HOT! Africa HOT!

It's about a hundred and two today. Not bad really. Considering that it will probably reach 110 next week here in Scottsdale.
Sitting at the computer in this heat and trying to write is ridiculous. Unless you're already a successful author and you can afford to have your AC pumping cold air all day long. I'm not and I can't.
Speaking of not being successful ... I have a terrific children's book on the market now that I worked my ass off to get published and the only one I've sold was the one I bought.
I have sent notices to all friends and family and not one person has ... oh wait ... my cousin Cathi in San Diego did try to buy it and got hung up in the purchase at Amazon and I guess gave up.
I don't get it. I was always a good boy, "a nice little boy" who was good to everyone. I must have done something pretty awful. No one gives a damn.
Friends and family have always asked me to support their work and I always have. Where is the reciprication? WHERE IS THE LOVE!
I would understand if the book sucked, but it really is good. The people who have read it and the children in my son's first grade class loved it. So...what the hell?
I know. I'm ranting. I told you it was hot.
I gotta go stand in a cold shower.

First Publication

My Ebook, "Almost Dead," was published today at Smashwords. I am very excited about this and I am working on two more upcoming publications. Everyone is going to like the children's book when it gets released.
In the meantime, if you have a moment go to http://smashwords.com/b/13616 and take a look.
I will need everyone's help to pave the way for my children's book. Tell your friends and do what you can.
I appreciate all of your help with these projects.

I Say It's My Birthday.

Monday morning, dark o'clock and the days begun. Why is it that my birthday always falls on March 1st?

Here's The Other Newfound Photo from "Cuckoo's Nest."

Wow! What a kiss that was. I can still taste her.

I Found This Picture Recently. 1975 University of Arizona - That's me playing R.P.McMurphy and Vicki Abelson playing Candy in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."

                                                      It's 1975 - Check out those sideburns.

At a Weird Place...Again.

For two months I have been blogging at a different blogspot for a friend/author. Today that part time paid position ended. Once again, I have to ask myself - "Now what?"
I have also been reading/reviewing/writing at Triggerstreet.com and have gotten very good reviews of my submissions. My submissions consisted of two short stories: "Almost Dead" and "My Best Friend Pain."
Both are true stories of events in my life.
My next sub. will be my first fictional story titled, "The Truth About Monsters." It's a children's story and I can't wait to see what kind of reception it gets.
A large children's book publishing company had it in December. The owner and his marketing department loved it, but the book distributers are not accepting any books right now. So that's on hold.
I have an interview tomorrow morning with a national corporation and I'm hoping it goes very well. I need this position in order to provide for my two beautiful children.
Vinisha said it very well in her poem; we need to keep our promise to take life one day at a time.
I really have no choice right now. Actually, I have to take one moment at a time.

The Need to Communicate.

"A day without writing is like a day without sunshine."

And a day without seeing my children is like a day without oxygen.
This was one of the happiest moments in my life.
The other moments are the times that I get to spend with these two angels.
They are everything to me and my life revolves totally around them and what I can do
to see to their care and happiness.
They are the main characters in a children's book I have recently submitted for publishing. I can't tell you how much happiness I get from writing stories about them.

I have a website, besides this blog, that I have posted some of my material on. The writing isn't hard for me. To paraphrase Descarte; "I write, therefore I am..." I write in my head all day, a big part of the day anyway (I can't help it - all my thoughts are dramatized and phrased for the page) and I try to put it down every couple of days. The hard part is entering it into the sites to share with others. But I'm getting the hang of it.
I wish that I could just sit here and spew it all out for you here. I know you would enjoy the read. But I have to be concerned about the business ends as well as the artistic ends, so I can't just give it away.
I have one short story ("Almost Dead") on Triggerstreet.com and that is getting fair to very good reviews. Getting ready to post another ("My Best Friend Pain") there soon.
I am waiting to hear back from a publisher regarding the children's book ("The Truth About Monsters"). My fingers are crossed for a deal.
I have just begun this blog and I have to learn how to "get it out there."
If you read this, please leave a comment and let me know someone is seeing it.
Oh...you can go to the site (still building) http://scottsdaleonlinereadingroom.yolasite.com/ to read some of the beginnings of my writing.

Thanks for listening. See you in the hall.
